The Scrunched Whisper…
(Loud yet remained unheard)
After 4 Days, Delhi.
With the click sound of the gate Priya got
permit to enter the premises after 4 day long undeclared and unapproved leave.
The sudden rain last night clogged water on the pavement that provided shortcut
to the entrance. Walking carefully not spoiling her dress, though her shoes got
spoiled a little, the shine that it had when she was leaving her apartment, is
lost she reached the office building. Grabbing some tissues from her handbag,
she cleared up the beads of mud that grew on the periphery of her boot. Taking
out a file she walked towards the reception.
“Hey look who’s back!” exclaimed Malhotra from
the Operations, Western Zone smiling, “Good Morning Priya.” He wished.
Priya was aware of the identity of other man there
and he also had the knowledge of her presence but rejected to look back. He
kept on looking into his mail box in the mobile. Under his ignorance Priya
decided to move on. A strict professional in nature she never mixed her
personal and professional life. “I am afraid; Priya. Priyanka had a word with
me and Ram about your sudden leaves, though those were unavoidable but company
rules are rules. I hope you understand.” Malhotra said under his sigh and
patting Ram on his shoulder.
“Ya!” He turned and faced Priya, having the
quite same expression that she was having that time. “Yes she has called me
also. Did you bring any papers?” Ram asked scratching his brows trying to hide
something; that may bother the other person.
“Yes Sir.” Priya responded holding a file
towards the other two men, “I am not a person who believes in excuses and I
abide by the rules and regulations of the company. I don’t want the company to
allow me paid leave for those days. I just want the company to know that it was
unavoidable. If you all can do this, it will be a great favour to me.” While
she was speaking for her, she found Ram to flip through the file.
“How’s uncle now?” suddenly he asked, the spark
in his eyes changed, “If you want we can give you..” The sudden change in Ram’s
behavior was pretty unaccepted for her, was
he looking for some proof to accept the truth? She asked herself, for my every word spoken do I need to
justify it with tangible proof? She again asked herself, before he could
speak any further, she intervened. “Thank you Sir.” Clearing her choked throat
she continued, “My brothers were out of town for holiday and I was needed there
at that time, now they are back and my elder brother is a surgeon at that
hospital only so he can take care of our father better than me. I don’t need
any more leave. Thank you for the offer. Now if you can excuse me.” Priya stepping
back she spins to opposite direction and headed to the elevator lobby. Known to
her conscious but not visible the men also walked behind her.
They had to wait for a while before the lift
arrived. In between those minutes, one Phone among the awaiting riders rang. It
was of Priya’s. Pulling out from the outermost pocket of her hand bag she
glared at it. The lady who had not arched her lips up for a moment that
morning, suddenly her lips curved as wide as it can. Ram was taken aback surely
by her reaction. A girl whose father just got out from the death bed, still
vulnerable how one could become so happy?
Receiving the call she didn’t utter a single
word, but the speaker on the other side was pretty loud. His voice travelled to
the other passengers who were waiting then. “PRIYAAAAA…” the voice almost throb
into other’s ears too, flooding out from her ear drum.
“Excuse me..” Priya said under her constant
smile. “Armaan please yaar. I am at office.” She scolded the caller, “And when you
came to India?” Priya’s voice got dispersed slowly as she walked away from the
elevator lobby. The halt alert from the elevator made Priya look back, the
constant gaze over her allowed Ram to guess that she must have excused the
caller for a while. He was right; gripping the phone within her palm she ran
and managed to slip into the elevator just on time.
Being the first to get in Ram stood at the
farthest corner of the elevator and she being the last one stood just by the
liftman. His blood rages through his veins, he wanted to get hold of her and
ask her about the caller addressed as Armaan. But it didn’t take long for him
to get more raged over her.
“Neha, today I will be late, my closest friend
is here and he asked for dinner today. Please manage Sunil Uncle I will be back
by 11 maximum.” Priya said over her phone and also heard Ram’s voice excusing
himself through the almost crowded elevator. He chose to vacate the elevator on
3rd floor, when he has to reach 6th floor. The sudden act
made Priya little uncomfortable. Ignoring him she ended the call with Neha
after passing the information.
Ram looked back as the elevator door that
closed behind. “She didn’t even mention
the name to Neha!” his head pounded in anger.
4 Days Back….. Delhi
After Priya Left
vacating Ram.
Everything around him started blurring. How can she do that to me? His thoughts
hammered. He wanted to shout at himself for trusting such a whimsical, arrogant
and dominant lady in his life. “FUCK!!” he shouted to vent the frustration that
could have broken his head into pieces. Looking around he found himself to be
some terrorist in the eyes of the pedestrians. Without wasting any time more he
took the first U-turn towards Vikram’s apartment.
With the second constant humming of the door
bell Vikram opened the door. In front, stood his friend with head hung and lost
eyes. “Ram everything’s okay?” he asked.
“You are coming with me.” The sudden pull in
the V-neck t-shirt made Vikram wobble and he just made himself stand straight
before hitting the wall in front. “What are you doing?” startled he retorted,
“And why?” he demanded an explanation.
“You
were right!” Ram said, “I should not have been behind her like a mad dog. Most
worthless lady I have ever seen in my life.”
“Wait! What happened Ram?” Vikram approached to
hold him, rejecting his touch he stood outside his door. Vikram noticed the
common faces peeping out from their doors. Their howling did the needful. He
smiled to inform them that every thing was fine with them. “Ram everyone is staring at us! I don’t have
my own apartment like you, who owns the complete floor. Please come inside and
talk.” He whispered his beg. Frowning at him Ram stepped inside the
apartment. Vikram smiled at the curious people and excused himself inside his
own flat closing the door behind.
“Now tell me what happened? She denied to come
or gave you another challenge to you?” Vikram asked sounding victorious.
“None.”
“Then?” suddenly the feeling of being
victorious fainted into the thin air.
“She came and then she left unsaid.” Ram
confused Vikram more.
“What???”
“She came with me. We went to Majnu Ka tilla. We had our breakfast, we
shared few good moments and then suddenly she went off saying nothing.” Ram
tried to answer.
“I told you my friend girls are like this only.
They enjoy and when they feel the opposite one will be taking this one step
further they flew. That’s the kind of woman she is. Just as you fell for her,
she got upper hand to play with you.” Vikram accused Priya, “And you threw me
out that day for her. You could have said her once about our fight. Dekhta how happy and proud she would
feel about it.”
“I said her and she didn’t sound proud. She
expressed if she were you, would have preferred to hit my balls.” Ram surprised
his friend.
“What? Did she?…” Vikram also got confused and
scratched his head to find an answer to it, “But tell me one thing why these
girls choose our balls to hit. It hurts yaar.”
“Can we concentrate on what we were
discussing!!” rebuked Ram, “We can think of our balls later on.” He frowned.
“Yeah! But Ram did she really? I mean..” Vikram
tried to chalk out.
“Yes she did and she also invited you to dinner
this weekend, which is worthless now. She wanted to meet you. Meet my friend
who is with me for 25 years. She also said that it surprised her how I stake my
25 years friendship for a 20 day relationship.” Ram surprised Vikram again.
“Wait Brother. Stop bombing. Did she?” Vikram
said out of his astonishment.
“Yes she did. But of what use? She left na.”
Ram sat carelessly on the couch.
“We are missing something.” Thoughtfully Vikram
sat on the couch. “You said, she is staying with her friend right?” Vikram
enquired. “Did you call her to check, something might have happened there, any
emergency and she felt awkward sharing it with you.” He suggested. Vikram had a
valid point. He looked aimlessly for next few seconds and then hurried out his
phone.
“Shit!” Ram clasped his hand on forehead.
“Now don’t tell me you don’t have her flat
mate’s number.”Vikram knew the obvious answer, “Let’s go.” Pulling up Ram they
rushed downstairs. Moments after they were on the roads, with much less traffic
for being it a holiday, they reached their destination quicker than estimated.
The security guard from the morning was still there. He saluted Ram and paved
way to them. Ram like gentleman stopped and made his and Vikram’s entry with
time and then headed to the flat.
This time, they didn’t have to wait long. Neha
opened the door and peeped behind. “Where’s Priya?” she asked surprising the
boys, “and who’s he?” Neha asked pointing to Vikram.
“Priya is not here? Shit!!” shoving his hands
through his hairs Ram stopped at his place spinning around once.
“Now what?” Vikram asked worryingly.
“She asked the cab driver to take to airport.
In my anger I just missed it Yaar.” Replied Ram.
With a disgusting sigh Vikram looked at Neha,
she was still enquiring his presence, “Hi!” he decided to introduce himself to
her, “I am Vikram Shergill, Ram’s friend and do you know where is Priya?”
“She went with him only.” Neha pointed to Ram
and saw few faces trying to intrude, “come inside, I need to talk.” Shutting
the door behind she looked angrily to the boys, “Now can anyone tell me what is
going on?”
Ram briefed the whole incident, which put Neha
into deep thoughts too. “Did you try her number?” she asked. When Ram nodded
his head in variance she took out her phone and dialing a number pressed it
against her ears. She waited for few seconds and again tried, “She is on the
flight I guess but to where and how did she manage air tickets so quick? She didn’t
inform me anything either!” Neha sounded pretty worried.
“Did she have any special friend?” Ram
disappointed Neha.
“Ram let me tell you few things about Priya.
She had an affair at college for three or four months that was also a sort of
challenge type with me that she can never attract any boy near her, stupid me.
After that she only did two things study and then working like a fucked up
donkey I don’t know what to proof. No social engagement no nothing! She was
leading a dull life when she is actually a fun loving person. No thrill no
enjoyment when she actually rides and owns a Royal Enfield. Only one friend me
that’s it chapter closed the end.” Neha said in one breath, after having enough
air in her lungs she added, “Yes she chats with one of her friends leaving at
Indiana, but once in a blue moon, other than that You. You; who snatched that
calmness from her. I saw her fighting with herself roaming around the room at
nights with her phone on her hand and what not. You are definitely something to
her. She is something can’t be understood so easily. She doesn’t open up, if
she does; she opens up to like any thing. There remains no secret no hiding.
Only truth. But for that; people has to touch her soul. Which I might have reached,
to some extent.” Neha again stopped to fill her lungs, “But I will not be
discussing this with you what she shared because I don’t know if you worth her
or not and how much does she trusts you.”
“But where she could have gone?” Ram asked
again, “And Royal Enfield?? Did you say that only?”
“At least not abroad because her passport is
with me only, in my locker. So she must have been somewhere within the country.
May be Mumbai, her younger brother stays there.” Neha said accidentally. “And
yes she is a member of some riding club too, with whom she hardly connects. But
that should not be our concern right now!!” scolded Neha.
“But Soma is not a boy’s name!” Exclaimed Ram,
“She was talking to some Soma.” He looked up.
“Oh God you are making this so complicated!!”
Neha groaned as she left her seat and headed to the balcony. “You know what we
should wait for her call and guys lunch?” she asked.
“No, I don’t need lunch. I had promised you
dinner I will bring something of your choice.” Ram said digging himself more
into the bean bag.
“I am cooking and you guys will have it here.”
Ordered Neha.
The spectator Vikram suddenly spoke, “Yes sure
we will and I will help you.” He stood up and smiled.
“Really? Do you know how to cook?” asked Neha
teasingly.
“Yes. Maggie.” Vikram apologetically said.
“Okay! Come I will show you some you can at
least help me by passing the instruments.” She laughed.
“Like an assistant!!” Vikram said under his
laugh. Their intention to make Ram laugh went in vain. He was still lost
somewhere in the thoughts that were getting a shape at the aimless distance.
Neha and Vikram walked to the kitchen allowing Ram to have some lone time.
“Where can she be?” Asked Vikram worried.
“Either to Mumbai or Kolkata, her home town.
But why didn’t she inform me or what would have happened?” Neha asked herself.
“Wait Sunil Uncle!!”Neha spoke out.
“Who is he now?” asked Vikram.
“Secretary of this society! She might have
informed him. Shall we check?” Neha asked.
“What we are waiting for? We should try to get her
update, if he has.” When Vikram almost pulled her out of the kitchen, Neha
pulled him back freezing to her position.“I think we should wait for him to
come to me. If Priya has not called him then I will invite another pain for
her. This society is not so open minded.” She expressed her worry.
“So what we should do now? Ram is pretty upset
with Priya.” He leaned against the wall to see Ram. With his head resting on
the bean bag , Ram sat there with his eyes shut. “He really feel for Priya .”
Neha sighed back helplessly, “Priya too.”
~~
The coarser weather prevailing in the city
since two days made the flight delay almost by 45 minutes. With each sluggish
moment she felt like time slipping out like sand. The last time she saw her
father in person when she left her home. Though, in Kartick’s social media
profile she has seen his few pictures from Kartick’s convocation ceremony. She
almost hurried to the taxi stand, once getting out of the airport. The cold
wind shivered her. The unruly wind tangled her hair that was flowing from her
shoulder loose.
The first taxi that charged her almost double
fare, knowing, she took it to the hospital. The traffic of Kolkata remained the
same, only got worse in 3 years. “Keep the change.” She said to the cab driver
giving him two five hundred rupee notes.
She rushed to the desolated hospital reception.
Few anxious people like her where there only, either occupied the seats
scattered or standing leaning against different counters or artificial pillar.
“Excuse me Ma’am. Mr. Sudheer Sharma, admitted here this afternoon...” she knew
that her stammering made it difficult for the lady to understand.
“Ma’am please calm down, we will do the best to
help you.” responded the lady.
Taking a deep breath trying to neglect the pain
that was grabbing her head into the dark, she said under her breath, “My
father, Sudheer Sharma got admitted here. Dr. Rohit Sharma’s father. I am Priya Sharma his daughter.”
“Right Ma’am. He has been taken to the ICU. Take
this pass and show it to security there.” She pointed the way to her. “He will
help you and don't worry we are also trying to contact Dr. Sharma.”
In next 5 minutes Priya was there outside the
ICU. She thanked her friend Soma for keeping her words. Soma informed that
doctors called Shipra inside and also informed her that few of her relatives
has been informed. She, being a married woman expressed her concern about her
just born baby and asked for permission to leave. After she left, Priya dumped
herself on the chair depositing the bag beside. The sounds of the different
monitoring machines was beating nails into her head. She felt numb. A nurse
looked at her and asked for the concern for being there in odd hours. Repeating
the same that she said to the receptionist, Priya sat numb. Asking Priya to
wait the nurse rushed into the ICU.
A/N – NEXT WHAT
HAPPENED WAS DETAILED IN CHAPTER 4
~~
Till the evening Ram kept his calm but as the nature
engulfed itself into darkness his ego stood hurt. “Enough!” he slapped the
restaurant table out of dejection. “Now even if she calls I am not going to
speak to her.” He declared in anger.
“Ram now you are…” Neha stopped and glared at
Ram’s phone it was an unknown number.
“Hello.” Ram sounded angry still. Next he threw
the phone on the table. The sudden attack on the mobile alarmed the other two spectators;
Vikram picked it up and enquired for caller’s identity. “Hi..” he said looking
at Neha asking her to come along. Placing a firm hand on Ram’s shoulder Vikram
walked out of the Restaurant with Neha.
“Hi. I am Vikram.” He introduced himself to
Priya, who called from her aunt’s number.
“Vikram my phone balance exhausted. I had to
keep in touch with Soma and roaming charges exhausted it. This is my aunt’s
number. My father is dying.” Priya’s voice chocked.
“What!!!!” exclaimed Vikram, looking at Neha,
who looked equally worried with truth still unknown. “But why didn't you inform
Ram?” he added.
“I don’t know what others would have done then
but I did what my brain asked me to.” Priya said, “Now why he denied speaking.”
“He is hurt Priya. The way you left…” Vikram
seize to speak.
“I know but he must give me a chance to
explain.” She said from the other side.
“Give him a little time. Speak to Neha she is
also with us and I am saving this number and yours. I will be in touch okay.”
Saying Vikram he gave the phone to Neha.
Priya briefed the unfortunate incident to Neha
and she being know to Priya’s past, having Vikram with her, was unable to speak
out what she actually wanted. Affirming her to inform the secretary she hung
up.
Inside the restaurant Ram still ignorant about
Priya and turned down Neha and Vikram’s plea. They failed to pass the
information to him. The ego won.
~~
With Ram not listening to her, Priya dialed
Priyanka’s number from her aunt’s mobile and disconnected it immediately. ISD
calls are not allowed in every number she remembered and even if she has the
facility it will be exhausting the calling balance in less than two minutes.
Resting the idea of calling Priyanka she walked back to her relatives waiting
there.
“Didi.
You should take some rest. We are all here.” Mala consoled her sister in law, “Dada is a fighter. He will fight back
and come to you.” The words back fired Shipra threw herself in Mala’s embrace
and wept. The lady comforting her sister in law looked up to Priya. She knew
what her aunt was trying to ask. She nodded her head in variance.
“Mala, you should take Priya to the guest
house. She needs to freshen up and change.” Priya’s uncle advised, “Boudi (sister in law) you also come with
Mala. My company guest house is just a five minute walk from here. We are all
here.”
“I am not coming. Mala you take Priya there.
She needs to change.” Said Shipra wiping her tears, “Where is your luggage
Priya?”
“I don't have any.” Priya responded.
“mane?
(Means)” almost everyone said in unison.
“I didn’t have time to pack, I just picked up
my bag and headed to Kolkata.” Her answer surprised everyone there.
“Mala take her and come back soon, Ranjit”
addressing her brother in law Shipra said, “Guide them, it’s pretty late.
Kolkata has changed a lot since she shifted.”
Mala gestured Priya not to speak and to obey.
They walked out of the hospital and within few minutes they reached the guest
house. After the ladies reached the room safely Ranjit asked his wife to call
him once his niece feels good to leave for hospital.
~~
When Mala came out of the washroom she found
Priya sitting on the window ledge, with an envelope secured in her grip.
“Priya.” She stroked her head softly. “He didn't spoke to you, right and is
this?” Mala pointed out.
Priya’s unsaid words were not hard to
understand. “I am here only because I have no other option left. I need to
speak to Mam too but you need privacy. You have it.” Under the deep sigh the
lady affirmed her with a smile. Priya watched her walking to the attached balcony
with her phone and in a moment she was speaking with her daughter, Priya’s
cousin.
The envelope that was opened by the security personnel
was emptied by her on the bed. She sat on it. The white paper folded once stared
at her. There was a small card, having something scribbled on it, not clear to
her ached her heart.
Her hand shook as she took the sheets in her
hand. Gulping a lump in her throat she unfolded it and brought it into its
original shape. The blue ink with which he scribbled the words enlightens the
beautiful writing. The most beautiful art she saw, even better than that of her
father's. She hover her hand over the words, over her name that looked more
beautiful there. While Priya was engulfed in it Mala once came inside and
without disturbing her she took a chair and went back to the balcony leaving her
alone.
Wiping the tears, holding the letter with her
both hands she started reading……
PRIYA,
(* I thought a lot and I end up
messing how to address you. Can I call you Peaches?
Only if you permit, till then Priya, only Priya.)
What make me write this;
even I am clueless about it. I hope you will find the reason to it and make me
understand too.
Before I start writing
further, pardon me if I cross my limit any time. I am too shy when it comes to
girls.
I never did this
before, because I never felt like this before. My heart thumps against my rib
cage, even if your thought crosses my mind. This is just not a feeling but an
adrenalin rush. I feel the peace when I see you smile. Your smile, I have never
seen any one with such a wonderful smile. Your smile is just like that soothing
breeze that caresses the soul. I love when your hair dance against your
shoulder. I wish someday I can dig my face into it and hide myself from every
worry I have. I am again sorry if I offend you. In the previous two drafts I
crossed this line a number of times trying to avoid it. But the conscious wish rejected
my plea. I really want to do it someday.
Here I want you to
know an important part from my past. Reading this you must think I could have told
you in person but I don’t want to lose you. Please try to understand everyone
has a past and I am no exception. Her name was Lisa. I noticed her in the gym
at London. Though I managed to speak to her but failed to ask for date which I at
least asked you and when this letter will lay safe with you in your bag I will be
enjoying my day with you. Lisa definitely was a heavenly lady with perfect curves,
but she didn't made me move with the click but when she wanted to go out, like
every other guy I agreed and before you find something to hit me over phone let
me tell you I just had a kiss with her. Worst one, she tasted awful. Well what
I am thinking right now……leave it. Coming back where I was, she wanted to show
me her house but I ran away as fast as I can. Now I know why I fled. Sorry
again for crossing my line.
Priya, I have
everything in my life. Might be the perfect life I am living. My father is a
successful lawyer, respected and celebrated equally. Where I live at Delhi, the
floor is owned by my father. He gifted me when I graduated from IIM with the
highest package in my pocket and hugely mentioned all over to become the first
one in 10 years to bag such a handsome package. I never had to think about my
family. Anything, I bought them was a gift always. They never asked any single
thing from me. I got their support in everything. I was never asked to live
their dreams. I lived mine. But… somewhere it irks me.
Now, I want to live
your dreams, I want you to share your dreams with me and allow me to walk along
with you. I want to give you that right to demand even my heart beats. I want
you to ask me whatever you want. I want to live your dreams with you. I want to
rest my head on your shoulder and keep on listening to you till you want me to.
I am tried Priya of being so perfect in life. I want to explore the child in me
again with you, my wild dreams with you. Don't worry I don't have kinky dreams.
I love some crazy adventures and sports which I think you will love too. I
don't know you so well but I felt that you are also an equally adventurous like
me. I want to share my …. Priya, please don’t get angry if I crossed my limit. But
if I don't write this I think I will get a heart attack.
“I want to hold you in
my arms.
I want to hide you in
me forever.
I want to …. I want to
taste the sweet nectar of yours….
I want to look at you
as you will sleep.
I want to dance with
you in rain like no one is watching us.
I want to listen to
you till the eternity.
I want to clap for my
lady when you will walk to your success.
I want to whistle for
you when you will achieve what you want to; I know your dreams are rare and as
big as mine.
And many many more…..”
Priya will you share
your heart with me? I promise, I will never let it alone, I will never make it
cry, I will never let it break, I will even fight with God, if any day before
me it even thinks of leaving.
Priya will you make me
the happiest and luckiest person on this earth to own your heart?
Answer me when you
feel answering.
Yours and only yours,
already yours,
Ram or whatever you
wish to name me.
PS. This envelope has
my address that you also don't have in your HR records. My official records
have Vikram’s address reason you also know. Better not discuss here. I gave you
my address because I want you to know every detail of mine. Any day if you feel
like visiting I will be the happiest person. There is no compulsion, whenever
you want to.
And
If you want to spit at
me after this, go ahead I am already yours. You have every rightful right over
me.
Until your answer;
wish me sleepless good nights.
Hugging the piece of paper Priya wailed. Her
wailing brought Mala inside. “Priya” running to her she embraced her. The paper
that still remained clutched in her grip was the reason of sudden emotional
break down. “Chup everything will be
okay. This night will pass by.”
“Kakima
(aunt) why he loves me so much? And if he does why he is denying listening
to me?” Asked Priya while wailing.
“Sometimes, we come across few unwanted things.
May be those happen so that we can know the truth. The real strength of the
relationship. This night will surely pass by and by the end of this night I know
a new day, a new light, a new life is waiting for you. He is angry for no
reason that you know. But, darling men’s ego is something natural.” Smirked Mala,
“Give him sometime he will definitely speak to you.”
Putting everything back into the envelope Priya
expressed her desire to go back to the hospital. Accordingly Mala acted. While
on their way to hospital news of her brother getting informed about their
father’s condition made her bit tensed. She worried about their reactions.
“Kaku
(uncle) I need to make an ISD call. Can you help me with it?” Priya knew before
morning she has to inform someone about the trouble she is in.
“Hmm.. I think there is one 24*7 public
telephone booth just beside hospital. I saw few people calling from there just
now.” Looking to his watch he replied. “If we hurry, we may get lucky.”
This time Priya was really lucky, the telephone
booth operates all throughout to support the international visitor of the
hospital. Without wasting any more time she hurried dialing Priyanka’s number.
After a long ring in sleep deprived voice Priyanka replied.
“Hi. Priya here.” She said apologetically.
“Priya? This time, is everything okay?”
concerned Priyanka asked.
“I am at Kolkata my father is very serious and
your name only crossed my mind. Please help me.” Helplessly said Priya.
“Tell me. What can I do for you?” replied her
ex colleague.
“Can you please inform Mr. Kapoor and Mr.
Malhotra about this? Please.” requested Priya.
“Ya obviously, but Priya for how many days I
should tell them?”
“Till this Sunday. I hope I will join on
Monday.” Confusingly Priya answered.
“I will ask Ram to handle this. Lui is close to
him” Priya said, “I know this is not the right time to say all this but if
possible carry some documents when you join back. It will help you to prove
yourself. This is just a precaution. You have just joined and not eligible for
leave for first 3 months. People can doubt you. Just for that I am asking you.”
“I will.”
“Good I will handle this okay.” Priyanka
affirmed.
With a little smile, she dropped the call. Clearing
the three figure charges she walked out of the telephone booth and walked to
the hospital.
~~
Early morning as scheduled Priya’s father was
wheeled inside the Operation Theater. The nurse carried some file with her that
might contain the consent papers signed by her. On the other side she had the
fear of facing her brother and her sister in law who will reach Kolkata by that
evening.
~~~~~
Present Day, Delhi
Again it was raining. After Office hours while
Priya was waiting at the bus stand for her friend. She cursed the weather.Trying
to save her head from getting drenched with her handbag she looked for Armaan
around. She again checked with the sms that she sent him about the pickup
point.
Her smile broadened as the eyes trace the man, coming
out of a taxi. Without realizing Ram by her side she hugged Armaan who somehow
managed to reach her dashing through the rain. He was definitely well build and
more handsome than Ram. Any girl will fall for him and Ram certified him as a playboy at the first sight.
Armaan’s eyes meet Ram’s angry gaze over Priya.
Protectively he pushed her behind and stood facing the
raging bull. “What dude? Don’t you have manners?” he said in a warning tone.
Without articulating a single word, Ram got
into his car and zoomed out of the sight.
Until we meet.
